Happy Independence Day:
On July 1st to Canada my first homeland, and July 4th to the US my
second homeland. My Canada Day celebration was a free Concert at our
Webster Village Gazebo and what a fantastic night it was. We've been
coping with a heat wave here in Upstate New York but July 1st moderated and
brought delightful breezes as we sat on the park lawn and listened to 'Bayou
Highway' - local band who sings and play Louisiana Cajun music. Their
singers sang en Francais, and made me fell like I was back home again in
Canada. What a nice surprise. I'm not fluent in French but it was nice to
hear those melodies and toe tapping, hand clapping music again. The music,
games, and food, continues through the whole weekend in Webster, NY, my home
town 'Where Life Is Worth Living' (at least in the summer.) I will be
enjoying the festivities with friend's from SAM's Lambs a Single Adult Ministry
that I lead in Webster NY. I hope you have as great a weekend as I plan to

Singles Role Model Campaign:
We're still accepting
nominations for our
Single Role Model Campaign until August 15.
You can read about the Project, and stories about past winners in our
Community Involvement Wing.
You can even search for Single
Volunteer groups to join, where you will not only be helping the Community
you'll be helping yourself and making some of the best friends you'll ever make.
Our first Role Model winner was a member of Single Volunteers of America.
We even have a local chapters in my neighborhood -
Rochester NY, but use the
Single Volunteer groups link to
find one in your neighborhood, or maybe find out how you can start one.
Singles Lifestyle study - I'm
looking for people to participate in a study of our singles lifestyle. Two
things that I need you to do - 1) complete our General Survey and 2)
complete our Faith Poll. The results will be compiled and reported to our
Courier subscribers and VIP members - without revealing personal, individual
information.
