Who We AreClick here for our most recent Press Release. Our center is a work-in-progress for singles across the country or around the world. No smut here, though maybe a little wacky humor, befitting our Canadian-born publisher, Betty Van Volkenburg. As a member of single parent support groups, founder of a non-profit singles group, and a Xerox community involvement volunteer, our publisher's first-hand experiences are a good source for enhancing our Center resources. Our contributors and production staff are all telecommuters who, except for a couple of token married people, are single by choice or chance. Since we singles have more potential in our lives than just being a dating partner, our primary focus is on educational and entertaining articles. Acknowledging our innate human interest in "gossip" we'll occasionally feature celebrity gossip and photos - as a secondary focus. However our articles cover a variety of topics that average singles can identify with and appreciate. Our regular departments cover Travel, Sports, Entertainment, Health, Relationships, Humor, Single Minded essays from our readers, and more. You'll find friends or maybe even a mate in our national listing of social and support groups from across the USA. Contact our Center to add your group. You don't have to be a "joiner" to find fun in our calendar of single events, fund raiser dances, Mix "n Mingle events or Travel Club trips and outings. Just show up with a smile! One of our goals is to combine profit and non-profit businesses in a mutually beneficial environment that will enhance the lives of single people and help them focus on the positive side of being single. To support that goal the Center will be establishing a private Singles Foundation to award scholarships and grants to qualified single people. Details of this venture and fund-raising activities will be announced in the near future. We are also available for fund-raising efforts that will benefit singles or the community at large. Our site is developed and maintained by Betty Van Volkenburg, otherwise known as BV Ventures, and our magazine writing staff is composed of freelance contributors from across the country.
